NORTH WEST OF EUROPE PROGRAMME

The North West Europe (NWE) area covers all of Ireland, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Luxembourg, and parts of the Netherlands, Germany, France and Switzerland. For full details please click to view the map and list of eligible areas.

Despite the general strength of the North West Europe area it has some particular problems such as regional disparities, poor quality in urban areas, social exclusion and environmental pressures that threaten its competitiveness and attractiveness. The overall objective of the NWE INTERREG IIIB Programme is to contribute to more cohesive, balanced and sustainable development of the European territory and the NWE area in particular, through an innovative and integrated approach to transnational co-operation on territorial issues.

The following sections provide an outline of the Priorities and Measures, Eligible Projects and Partnership Arrangements that apply to the NWE Programme. This is not a comprehensive list, for example it provides only examples of the types of activities that might be supported. Please refer to the Programme documents available through the Programme Secretariat for full details.
