Identification of London as a monocentric city in the draft NWE Vision document is unacceptable.

Priority 2

External and internal accessibility

Sustainable mobility management

To improve London’s accessibility

  • Linking to ESDP: Developing polycentric (3.3.2) and Compact City models for better accessibility, integration of urban functions & access to services and facilities (3.2.2). Promoting access to infrastructure for social, economic and spatial cohesion (3.3.1).

Identification of polycentric structure of London and how development ties into this. Recognising London's super-connectivity and disparities existing within this.

Improved access to the Information Society

To make London a more prosperous city with strong and diverse economic growth

To promote social inclusion and tackle deprivation and discrimination

  • Improve London’s ICT infrastructure; promote e-London (e-government, e-resources for groups without access, e-education, e-support for businesses, especially SMEs.

  • Linking to ESDP: Diffusion of Innovation and Knowledge: improved training and professional skills of labour force (3.3.4)

Identification of London's information-communication technology (ICT) connectivity in some locations but lacking in others. Using ICT to overcome perceived bottlenecks within and through London.

Priority 3

Water resources and the prevention of flood damage

Land use and water systems

To make London a more attractive, well-designed and green city
